I collect (and occasionally try to perform) music of times past, mainly of the 19th Century.
Of particular interest are Gospel, Maritime (Sea Chantys, foc’sle songs etc.), Civil war and Minstrel genre.

Have a fair collection of original and downloaded music scores, songs which have probably not been heard on over a hundred years in some instances. If anyone is looking for a particular piece of 19th Century music – especially Christian – chances are I might have it in one of my raggedy old books.

If posting scannings here helps, we can do that, or I’m open to other communications venues. I see that this blog is not all that audio friendly without special add ons which I can’t be bothered with, but if anyone might suggest an on line host for *.Mp3 files (FREE would be nice!) I can upload some of my public domain or original stuff there to share. Might even be able to figure out how to link them here.

One of my favorite Folk Music Forums is: http://www.mudcat.org/threads.cfm
The “Mudcat” – although I don’t hang out there nearly as much as I used to.
It’s a great resource for the Folkie / blues / acoustic Musician.
