In response to recent FWD from a Family Member:

While we’re on the topic of contemporary Christmas theme music, here’s one that I found along the margins of that You-Tube page with a somewhat more serious tone – but one well worth pondering, in my opinion.

While You Were Sleeping – Casting Crowns

“…Is there any room for a King here in America….?”

Messiah’s birth cannot be isolated from His Life, ministry, death and resurrection. This music video provides a stark contrast between His quiet, peaceful birth and his horrible, violent sacrificial offering for our sins on the Cross on Calvary Hill. In the end, it reminds us of his eventual… and perhaps imminent… return.

It moved me, as I trust that you will be moved and blessed as well.

I must warn you however that some of the images of the “Passion” are rather graphic.

They are probably among the most authentic and realistic artistic interpretations of what it actually looked like that you are apt to encounter, and I’ve done a fair amount of research and study on the historical, archaeological and forensic evidence surrounding the torture and crucification of Yeshua Bar Yosef, our Messiah and Adonai – more commonly referred to as “Jesus (the) Christ”. If anything, the reality was probably much worse than what you will see illustrated.

Please force yourself to watch it anyway; it is but a small suggestion of how much He suffered on our behalf….
Because despite how much our rejection of Him hurt him more deeply than we will probably ever know… more deeply, I suspect, than the whip, the thorns, and the nails….

He still Loved us that much.

…And I have it on good authority that He still does.

Mark 14: 37And he cometh, and findeth them sleeping, and saith unto Peter, ‘Simon, sleepest thou? couldest not thou watch one hour?’ “
